Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium hosted an electrifying MTN 8 final on Saturday, October 5, as Orlando Pirates staged an incredible comeback to defeat Stellenbosch 3-1, securing their 13th title and third consecutive victory in the competition.

Stellenbosch drew first blood through Lehlohonolo Mojela’s 12th-minute strike, but Monnapule Saleng equalized for the Buccaneers just before halftime.

The second half saw both teams create scoring opportunities, but Pirates seized the initiative in added time, courtesy of Tshegofatso Mabasa and Relebohile Mofokeng’s crucial goals.

Man of the Match, Thabiso Sesane, dedicated his award to injured captain Olisa Ndah, who missed the game due to an injury. “Olisa’s leadership and presence were greatly missed, but we’re thrilled to have won this title for him and the team.”
