The Nigeria U20 national team, Flying Eagles, have relocated to Ikenne, Ogun State, as they intensify preparations for the forthcoming WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo.
The team, quarterfinalists at the 2023 FIFA World Cup, will spend a week at the state-of-the-art Remo Sports Institute, fine-tuning their strategies and building team cohesion ahead of the championship.
The WAFU B U20 Championship, scheduled to hold from October 17 to 31, serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile. The top four teams will qualify for the World Cup.
Nigeria, drawn in Group B alongside Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire, will aim to defend their title won in Niger Republic two years ago. Hosts Togo, Ghana, Benin Republic, and Niger Republic make up Group A.
