Middlesbrough has secured the loan signing of Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho from Sevilla until the end of the season. The 28-year-old forward, who previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City, returns to English football to strengthen Middlesbrough’s attacking options.

With a wealth of experience and a proven goal-scoring record, Iheanacho’s arrival could be a game-changer for Boro’s promotion push.

Kelechi Iheanacho has built a solid career across top European leagues, amassing over 300 career appearances and scoring 85 goals. His time in England saw him rise through Manchester City‘s youth ranks before making a name for himself at Leicester City, where he played a crucial role in their FA Cup triumph.

At Sevilla, Iheanacho managed three goals in 11 La Liga appearances, showing glimpses of his attacking prowess. Middlesbrough, currently pushing for promotion, will be hoping his experience and goal-scoring instincts can boost their campaign in the EFL Championship.

His ability to link up play, hold the ball, and finish with precision makes him a valuable addition to Michael Carrick’s squad.

This move is strictly a loan, with no option to buy, meaning Iheanacho is set to return to Sevilla at the end of the season. However, his performance at Middlesbrough could determine his future, potentially opening doors for a permanent move elsewhere or securing a bigger role at Sevilla.
